Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: • explain why and how international organisations need to plan their future workforce and describe the role of HR in workforce planning • identify and discuss the core principles that underpin the concept of strategic human resource planning • differentiate between workforce planning, workforce intelligence planning, and strategic workforce planning and apply suitable concepts according to the situation • differentiate between workforce planning, workforce intelligence planning, and strategic workforce planning and apply suitable concepts according to the situation • analyse the conceptual and operational difficulties surrounding the practice of strategic human resource planning • evaluate approaches to workforce planning critically and apply criteria for robust evaluation studies
