After succesful completion of this course, students are able to: • describe the main challenges of expatriate management for employees and organisations • assess the legal framework and its implications for hrm which are relevant for an expatriate management policy in an organisation • differentiate between the main motives for using international assignments • identify different forms of international staffing options and assignments and assess their advantages and disadvantages • explain why selection, preparation and repatriation form an integral part of the international assignment process • design expatriate programs that support employees before, during and after their stay abroad. • critically evaluate the sucess of an international transfer (employee & company perspective)
